Family of Septimus IRELAND

SEPTIMUS IRELAND was born about 1829 in Canada, and died after 1870. He was a pumpmaker who settled his family in Dane county, Wisconsin, where he is found in the 1860 and 1870 census returns.

He married HENRIETTA FOX (FOY?) about 1850 in Ontario, CANADA. She was born about 1830 in CANADA, and died after 1870.

  1. ELIZABETH HARIETT IRELAND, b. Aug 1850, CANADA; d. after 1920, Minnesota?. She married JAMES BURNS MCPHERSON on 15 Oct 1867 in Primrose, Dane, Wisconsin.

  2. MARY A. IRELAND, b. 1853, CANADA; d. after 1860.

  3. LUCY IRELAND, b. 1855, CANADA; d. after 1870.

  4. SEPTIMUS IRELAND, b. 1857, CANADA; d. after 1870.

  5. HENRY IRELAND, b. 24 Sep 1859, CANADA; d. 28 Jan 1927, Madison, Dane, Wisconsin; mar. EMMA ELLEN MCPHERSON, 6 Dec 1881, Dane, Wisconsin.

  6. JAMES IRELAND, b. 1862, Wisconsin, USA; d. after 1870.

  7. MILDRED E. IRELAND, b. 1867, Wisconsin, USA; d. after 1870.

SEPTIMUS reputedly had a son by ELSIE LINTZ in Ontario, CANADA. I don't think this is the same person as HENRIETTA FOX. The child is born about 7 months after the first child above. Also, the boy is not listed with the above family in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census returns.

Children of SEPTIMUS IRELAND and ELSIE LINTZ are:
  1. DAVID MERVIN IRELAND, b. 1 Apr 1851, Ontario, CANADA; d. after 1901. He married CATHERINE ? about 1870 and is found in Ontario in 1881 and 1901.
