ATHEW FAGG was christened on 6 Sep 1795 in Staple, Kent, ENGLAND, and died about 1875 in Kent, ENGLAND. He was the son of William FAGG and Margaret. Although at first an agric. lab., by 1851 he is a fruiterer and in 1871 a greengrocer. He married MERCY APPLETON on 27 Dec 1820 in Staple, Kent, ENGLAND, daughter of JAMES APPLETON and MARY BROCKMAN. She was christened on 9 March 1800 in Ash, Kent, ENGLAND, and died after 1881.i. JAMES FAGG, chr. 20 May 1821, Staple, Kent, ENGLAND; d. after 1881. He is believed to have settled in Ramsgate, married a woman named Frances and had at least two children.
ii. CHARLES FAGG, chr. 8 June 1823, Staple, Kent, ENGLAND; d. after 1881.
iii. RICHARD FAGG, chr. 5 Mar 1826, Staple, Kent, ENGLAND; d. after 1881. He was a bricklayer. He may have married a woman named Rhoda about 1851, but by 1881 he’s in the Dover Union House.
iv. MERCY BROCKMAN FAGG, chr. 25 May 1828, Staple, Kent, ENGLAND; d. after 1861. She married a man surnamed HARMAN.
v. ELIZABETH FAGG, chr. 20 Mar 1831, Staple, Kent, ENGLAND; d. after 1841.
vi. ANNA MARIA FAGG, chr. 4 Aug 1833, Staple, Kent, ENGLAND; d. after 1851.
vii. WILLIAM FAGG, chr. 17 Jan 1836, Staple, Kent, ENGLAND; d. after 1881. He is believed to have married a woman named Elizabeth about 1872 and had a daughter Alice B. FAGG.
viii. ALICE FAGG, chr. 4 Oct 1838, Staple, Kent, ENGLAND; d. after 1841.
