Notes for JOHN KING:
The death and burial info. on this person is not certain.
Family tradition holds that this man fought under Admiral Nelson at Trafalgar and was the first Englishman to sight the enemy fleet coming out -- thereby winning a gold doubloon for himself. He was later granted a Letter of Marque to raid American shipping during the War of 1812. No evidence to support this story has been found.
An alternative story is that he was a "powder monkey" who worked the guns.
The records at St. Paul indicate that he may be buried there, but there is no specific record of his interment. The possibility exists that he died at Trafalgar and was buried at sea. His wife is buried in St. Paul's Cathedral.
