MCBEE, SWANSEY
Posted on Jan 3, 2002 by L. H. ZieglerAm searching for the parents of a William Handly Swansey, born in Greenville, SC, on Nov. 7, 1801. Some of their children or grandchildren may still be living in the area. Thanks lots. L. H. (Swansey) Ziegler
PEACE
Posted on Mar 28, 2002 by Cecil Alvin Pece, Jr.William Elige Peace was born about 1890 in Cherokee County , Alabama He was married and had two children, Perry Peace and Mary Peace. William Peace committed a crime and was being sought by the law the last mention of William Elige Peace was when he was 19 years old and that was a census record . When William met my Grandmother he had changed his name to Carl Pece and they were married in 1920. I was told that my grandmother made my grandfather give his two young children to the family of Lit Wise. William was being sought, I believe, for murder. If anybody has any information on my grandfather please contact me at Masterdestroy.com, or call me at (580) 436-3497. Cecil Alvin Pece Jr.

MORRIS, STONE
Posted on May 18, 2002 by Bob WoodsI'm trying to find out if James F. Stone, born 1837 in GA was on 1860 or 1870 census of Cherokee Co, AL, or if a Morris family lived there in those two census years. James married Harriet Morris in Jan 1865 in Blount Co, AL, but I understand he served in Co. G, 48th AL from Cherokee Co in Civil War. Several children born to them between 1865-1875 in AL. James had a younger brother named William and one named Francis, both in Co. C, 28th AL , an older brother Wesley Co. G, 56th GA, KIA, and he is believed to have served in Co. G or H, 48th AL (from Cherokee Co); also had an uncle John and may haved worked on a farm with him in Cherokee Co in 1860 before parents and younger brothers moved to AL in late 1860, and there was an older daughter named Eleanor (Ellender) who married a Ben or Benjamin Wilson. Wondering if those of the Morris and Stone families lived near each other, perhaps near the Cherokee-Blount County line, or if any boundary lines changed?
