CIGARETTE BOX ART
1910
Sometimes cigarette packaging could equal the beautifully printed and embossed artwork found on expensive cigar boxes. Pictured below is an exotic label from the American Tobacco Company for their Ulissa Egyptian Cork Tip Cigarettes. The graphic artist seems to have captured all that a young man might have imagined as he looked out this ornate window in the romantic Middle East, circa 1910: domed buildings, a minaret, incense, with a beautiful young woman wearing an exotic low-cut costume and enjoying a cigarette.
