THE FAVORITE STRAIGHT CUT CIGARETTES
1886---ca. 1920s

The Favorite Straight Cut Cigarette was first manufactured in 1886 by the Pace and Sizer Tobacco Company in Richmond, Virginia. The brand followed Mr. Sizer when he and Alexander Cameron became partners about 1890. Later, the Favorite Straight Cut Cigarette became the property of the Cameron & Cameron Company. This large Richmond tobacco firm was owned by Alexander and his brother William. Old fashioned Favorite Straight Cut Cigarettes were being made by the Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company when speedy baseball slugger Ty Cobb was at the height of his career.

A special thank you to my friend Joe Parker of Maryland. Joe helped with information about these early tobacco companies.
