"THE UPMOST IN CIGARETTES"
1893---1900

Greek immigrant Sotirios Anargyros made his deluxe all-Turkish tobacco Egyptian Deities Cigarettes in the Anargyros Turkish Factory on West 22nd Street in New York City. The Turkish tobacco that he used to make his luxurious and expensive Deities was Ghyubek. There is one upper or Ghyubek leaf to every sixteen lower leaves on a tobacco plant, and this leaf has more of the aromatic oils that make a cigarette fragrant and flavorful. Ghyubek is known to be the richest of all Turkish tobaccos.
