"GLORIOUSLY GOOD"
1899---ca. WW I

The view from Mount Nebo can be gloriously good. On a clear day one can enjoy a spectacular view of the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and way off in the distance the church spires in Jerusalem. The lure of these biblical lands is symbolized in the brandname and exotic graphics of Nebo Cigarettes. Originally made by the John Surbrug Company in New York City, Nebo became the property of the P. Lorillard Company upon the dissolution of The American Tobacco Company monopoly in 1911. Lorillard advertised Nebo with several attractive posters featuring the slogan 'Gloriously Good', and for awhile included one of their beautiful satin 'silks' in each packet.
