"THE TREASURE OF THEM ALL"
1934
The P. Lorillard Company advertised their Old Gold cigarettes with testimonials from several famous 1930's movie stars. A newspaper ad featuring Mae West is pictured below, but other Hollywood celebrities that lent their names included Charlie Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy, and Barbara Stanwyck. Besides the newspaper ad, an attractive life size and die-cut cardboard Mae West promoted Old Gold. This large sign was printed in color, and like the newspaper ad it pictured her wearing the exquisite form fitting blue gown that she wore as a burlesque queen in, Belle of the Nineties.
