MAGNIFICENT MERCURY
1885---2004
One hundred and nineteen years after tobacco tycoon William Kimball had Mercury placed high above his Peerless Tobacco Works, the statue continues to delight in Rochester. Now located above Aqueduct Park and near the Riverside Convention Center, Mercury treats visitors to fine art complements of tobacco and the foresight of city leaders.
A special thank you to my good friend Roger Hordines who went out of his way to photograph Mercury for me.
