The P. Lorillard Company targeted women with romantic advertising for their best selling Murad, Egyptian Deities, and Helmar cigarette brands. These incredibly striking illustrations were published from just before the beginning of the First World War, until discontinued in the early 1920's. This was the golden age of the American illustrator, and the make believe world that these artists created was often far from reality, but exquisite in design and oh so romantic.
